Growing up in Portsmouth and now based in South London, Elise Blakely has grown up drawing. Starting out in her parent's conservatory with an unnecessary amount of Promarkers and a 'How to Draw Manga' book they got for her birthday, Elise has a life consuming passion for illustration. Inspired by the works of Katsuhiro Otomo, Maxwell Atoms (Billy and Mandy), Gareth Evans (The Raid, Apostle)... not to mention the profound impact gaming has had on their creative outlook. House of the Dead, SSX Tricky, LittleBig Planet- they all lend their spunky, uniquely stylised nature to Elise's inspiration.
They dream up digitised landscapes tackling identity and narrative through their character design, with a flair for incorporating fashion into their storytelling utilising both illustration and animation. Their sharp attention to detail and clean rendering, along with an eye for composition moves her work from the imagined to the real.
